2nd International Information Technology Conference on "IT -the Challenges for the 21st Century" was held from 6-8 October 1999. The Conference was preceded by Workshops held on 4 & 5 October 1999.

The International IT Conference brought together some of the world's most reowned authorities in the field of IT providing the participants an opportunity to take part in one of the most informative IT events in the country.
 
Distinguished personnel from the IT field featured as speakers. These leaders spoke on the trends and the directions in IT affecting the industry. Several refereed papers was presented on IT related subjects from general themes to technical issues.
 
CEO's, IT professionals, senior management in the private / public sectors and representatives from organisations in the commercial, legal, training, shipping, transport, and utility service sectors gained immensely by attending this conference.
 

All papers were peer reviewed and abstracts of accepted papers appeared in the Conference Proceedings.

 
This event was organised by CINTEC - Council for Information Technology.
